Argentina defeated Brasil 3-2 to lift Sudamericano Sub15 title

The Diego Placente’s boys fought back from 0-2 to win the title over Brazil

Having scored freely in the group stage and winning 4-1 against Peru in the semi final, Argentina have had no difficulty in finding the net during the tournament but struggled to breakdown an excellent Brazil side during the first half.

Brazil managed to take advantage in the 33rd minute after a free kick that Kaio Jorge converted into a goal. When San Lorenzo’s Francisco Flores poked the ball into his own net two minutes into the second half, Brazil went 2-0 and Argentina’s hopes of lifting a first ever U15 Sudamericano looks difficult.

But Argentina did not lower its arms and reacted immediately in just two minutes. Argentina leveled the score thanks to the goals of Matías Palacios (4′) and Matías Godoy (6′)

And everything was transformed into extreme happiness, a few minutes from the end, when Bruno Amione, head, turned the final 3 to 2, which gave the continental title to the Albiceleste.

Diego Placente has had little time to work with the group but the former left back and assistant Pablo Aimar know all about winning titles at youth level. The pair were world champions in 1997 and after years of failure since the golden age that Placente and Aimar were a part of, the under-15s victory is a welcome boost for La Albiceleste.
