In a recent interview reported by forzaitalianfootball, Paulo Dybala discussed the reason for rejecting the Italian national team call-up and stated he would never play for another country.
“I have always said that I feel Argentine and nothing more,”
The 21-year-old’s performances have attracted attention from some of the world’s top clubs due to his stunning display for Palermo. Despite a higher probability of featuring in Italy’s lineup, the young forward expresses choice to pick his country of birth and stated he would never play for another country
“I have only one dream and that is to play with the Argentine national team. I do not know why everyone has talked about it so much, but I will never play for another country.
When asked about his Palermo team mate and countrymen Franco Vazquez, who accepted a call-up from the Azzurri, Dybala said the case is different;
“For Vazquez, it is different as his mother is Italian and he is older than me, so for his career, it is an interesting leap.”
